Shell & Tube Type Heat Exchangers
A shell and tube heat exchanger is a device where two working fluids exchange heat by thermal contact using tubes housed within a cylindrical shell. The fluid temperature inside the shell and tube are different and this temperature difference is the driving force for temperature exchange.
A Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger consists of a series of tubes, one set containing the fluid that needs to be heated or cooled and the other set containing the fluid responsible for heat transfer. The tubes are enclosed in a shell, which provides a controlled environment for the heat exchange process. The design allows for efficient heat transfer while maintaining the separation of the two fluids.
